PPYC Learning at the Helm
Learning at the Helm (LATH) is a group of sailors who meet every Tuesday night, April through September, to learn about sailing and increase their skill as sailors. It’s genesis was a contingency of just female members of PPYC who began meeting together to sail
in a casual atmosphere. In 2006, Ladies At The Helm became Learning At The Helm and was officially opened to everyone, male and female, interested in learning to sail or just sharpening up their sailing skills.
Besides giving newcomers knowledge on how to handle a sailboat with confidence, we have a great time on the lake. We sail from the dock at 6:00 p.m. sharp! Everyone wanting to try out helming or crewing a sailboat is welcome. Our fun filled evenings give
everyone a chance to participate. We welcome boat owners to join us and give more folks a chance to experience the thrill of sailing.
Learning at the Helm is open to any adult interested in learning how to sail. The goal of LATH is to share with others the enjoyment of sailing and thereby increase the membership of Percy Priest Yacht Club.
Please feel free to contact
the Lath
Coordinator if you are interested in
joining us!
Anyone participating in the LATH program
must sign a
Waiver and Release Agreement.
