PPYC’s Club Boat Program

"The Phillips" and "Waller" Club Boats

With the support of Metro Parks and Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina, PPYC has embarked on a club boat program for Active level members. The goal of the program is to provide sailboats that qualified members, who would not otherwise have access to a boat, can use on a scheduled basis. The program was launched in 2007 with the donation of an O’Day 23. In 2008 we added a Northstar 500 to the program and in 2009 we added a Catalina 22.

We have implemented a two-level system of participation in the Club Boat Program. Those wanting to sail only the O’Day 23 and Catalina 22 can join the program at the Ensign Level which has an annual fee of $150 plus tax. Those wanting to sail the Northstar 500 as well as the Catalina 22 and O’Day 23 can join the program at the Pilot Level which has a higher level of certification and a higher fee of $250 plus tax due to the added cost for slippage for the Northstar. Pilot Level skippers are also allowed to race any of the club boats in the Portsmouth Handicap Class on Wednesday nights or in regattas.

The Ensign Level fee is now $150 plus tax. The Pilot Level fee remains $250 plus tax.

Club Boat Available to PPYC Members at No Additional Fee

PPYC has added an O'Day Day Sailer, "Annabelle", to the Club Boat Program. The Day Sailer is available for use by any Active level PPYC member at no additional fee. To use the Day Sailer, you need to read the Club Boat Guidelines, pass a check ride with an approved skipper and sign a Sailboat Use and Release Agreement. Once you have met these requirements, contact the Club Boat Manager to get a user name a password for the online reservation system. Like the other club boats, reserving the Day Sailer is an online only process.

Please remember to contact the Club Boat Manager to report any issues you encounter with our boats.

For more information about the Club Boat Program, review the documents and forms below.
